Reason for Demonstration

It is time to stand up and say that enough is enough. Let the government know that you are tired of wasteful and irresponsible spending. On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, we will hold a peaceful protest to let our voices be heard from Paragould, Arkansas to Washington D.C.

This Tax Tea Party demonstration is in remembrance of the first Boston Tea Party of 1773. Now, over 200 years later, it is time to stand, again, against out of control government.
· Voting for $500 billion tax bill and never having the time to read it
· Borrowing trillions of dollars that our grandchildren will still be paying
· Reward irresponsible financial behavior
· … and so much more

This is a nationwide demonstration, come and be a part of it in Paragould. It is important that we stand and be heard. Come and join us. Make a difference for today and the future.

On the Move

Okay things are starting to move- but slow. I have created several accounts and created the Facebook event- Paragould Tax Tea Party. I have made a few contacts and have heard back from a few people, ready to join in.

I am trying to find out how to use facebook to invite people to the event. I may need help in this area. Do I invite a group at one time? Or do I need to do it individually? I hope to learn today.
I need to make some flyers, to get the word out. Maybe an ad in the local paper? I think I have more questions than answers today.

Step One

I received an email alert from American Family Association about TEAD: Taxed Enough Already Day. It sparked my inner thoughts about how I need to do something. I have been talking to people about what I learn and hear, but now it is time to get moving. This thought about organizing the demonstration seems a bit scary and overwhelming. But the thoughts and ideas have not gone away. It is on my mind continually, so I guess it is time to step up and begin. So here it goes. I opened a Twitter account, a facebook page, and now this blog. I am ready to let people know what is going on and walk myself through this.

I am waiting on notification that it is okay to proceed, so I guess when I get the email that no one else has started this here in Paragould, Arkansas, I will then continue.
